Biography

Elizabeth Rielley’s practice centers on crafting strategic responses to office actions, conducting effective examiner interviews, and collaborating closely with clients to successfully secure patents for industry-leading innovations. Elizabeth has worked in diverse technology areas including semiconductors, fintech, neuro networks, wearable devices, graphical user interfaces, photovoltaic cells, nanotechnology, software, thermal systems, and optical devices, enabling her to navigate the complexities of multidisciplinary inventions that involve complex legal-technical challenges.

Prior to joining BoMc, Elizabeth worked at a patent boutique where her practice included prosecuting patent applications for fintech AI, machine learning, and other software applications for international clients. She conducted patentability and freedom-to-operate searches as well as prior art searches supporting post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Elizabeth also filed multiple Amazon Patent Evaluation Express (APEX) claims of infringement to protect clients’ intellectual property rights against counterfeits in the online marketplace.

Before her legal career, Elizabeth worked as a patent examiner at the USPTO for a semiconductor art unit, where she examined patent applications related to display devices. Following that role, Elizabeth worked as a Patent Analyst for an IP management and technology company, conducting in-depth national and international patentability searches across a variety of technical fields, from medical devices to satellites and from photovoltaic cells to color-changing soap. While earning her graduate degree, Elizabeth researched techniques to vitrify radioactive and corrosive wastes for environmentally stable disposal.
