Bookoff McAndrews last week joined as an inaugural member and diamond seed funder of the newly formed PTAB Bar Association. Resulting from the collaboration of over 45 law firms, the Association was formed to preserve and promote the highest professional and ethical standards among lawyers and stakeholders who appear before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). The Association also fosters collaboration and constructive dialogue between the PTAB, fellow bar members, and corporate and government entities, making it an invaluable forum for those who appear in contested proceedings before the PTAB. The Association also is planning an inaugural conference to be held on March 1-2, 2017, in Washington, D.C.
Bookoff McAndrews Partner, Dinesh Melwani, will chair the group’s Diversity Committee. “Diversity is a high priority and we look forward to developing compelling programming of interest to women, minorities, the LGBTQ community, and lawyers with disabilities,” said Dinesh who leads diversity efforts at Bookoff McAndrews, which was named the #1 Midsize Firm for Diversity according to Vault.com.
According to the group, it has been more than 30 years, dating back to the creation of the Federal Circuit Bar Association, since a national bar association of this scope has been formed. To become a member of the PTAB Bar Association, or for more information, please click here.
